We are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst – a key role within the UK Finance Team that will provide financial support to our Marketing + Commercial Teams across the UK. This is a great role for a part qualified or finalist (CIMA or ACCA) Analyst looking for more responsibility and impact into a large commercial business.
SSP is the leading dedicated operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide. We drive our own Brands such as Upper Crust, Millie’s Cookies, Delice De France, and CafÃ© Ritazza; as well as operate Franchise agreements to manage the likes of Marks and Spencer, Starbucks and Burger King.
Working with the senior finance analyst, the role will be responsible for supporting the marketing department and commercial teams in analysing and understanding the financial impact of all commercial activities across a wide range portfolio of brands.
The role would also be involved in two key trading areas of SSP UK, sales and gross profit, providing detailed knowledge and commercial insight to ensure all stakeholders have the information needed to enable key strategic decisions to be made.
Providing commercial insight and analysis into the trading performance of SSP UK.
Analysis and assess the impact of new product ranges, promotions, trials and other commercial activities. Evaluate the success of the trial/promotion and calculate whether it is driving any incremental value to the business.
Tracking and analysing key measures including ATV, ASP, LFL sales, gross profit and waste. Highlighting any key risks or issues to implemented commercial initiatives.
Set up and improve value adding reporting tools for the marketing dept. eg menu models / promotion models / monthly reports
Develop existing suite of period reports to maintain focus on changing KPIs and trends (eg period brand packs / scorecards)
Understand the impact of pricing and cost inflation on a period basis.
Supporting the commercial marketing department by providing anaylsis on pricing, discount and promotional activity.
Involvement in the annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation for both sales and gross profit at unit level.
The successful candidate will be a commercially focussed part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with experience working in a multi-site retail environment or from a commercial background.
Highly developed commercial skills, developed in a multi-site retail environment .
Advanced excel skills- able to analyse, manage and manipulate large volumes of data
Excellent inter-personal skills with a can-do approach and the confidence to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation hierarchy
Experience working with a non-finance team with the ability to present financial analysis data in a simple and engaging way
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage expectations
Pro-active and motivated indidividual who is keen to explores new ways of working
Ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and add value to the team with ideas/recommendations
High level of attention to detail with a meticulous attitude to their work
