This London-based marketing and business development role is responsible for compiling and executing a communications strategy for external PR, along with the drafting of new business pitches. It also includes the management of events, internal communications, directories and awards submissions alongside general marketing materials.
Based as part of the wider European marketing team, this role will have a focus on German language work supporting attorneys in the firms’ German offices.
Bilingual English and German Language Essential
Overview of the role:
(Pitches and Presentations)
Drafting, formatting and proofing German language pitches, presentations and on behalf of the German practice groups.
Providing pitch assistance to the European pitch team, on German pitches and also on wider European pitches.
Updating InterAction with new pitches.
(Business Development Support)
Ad hoc, in-depth research assisting partners in projects to further client development.
Monitoring competitor activity within the market.
(PR & Directories)
Internal Communications. – drafting relevant items for the German offices.
External Communications/PR – drafting and distributing press notes on behalf of the German offices/building relationships with German language press.
Directory and awards submissions on behalf of the German offices.
First contact for all German language marketing materials, working in close cooperation with the European/Global marketing teams.
Practice area descriptions and bio updates in German.
Organising client alerts/newsletters and advising lawyers with respect to the preparation and coordinating the distribution.
Updating all relevant marketing databases of newly announced matters and transactions.
Liaising with German offices to update firm/practice-relevant materials.
Preparing and overseeing of marketing budget for German office base.
Organising, coordinating and managing in-house and external client seminars, including venue selection, advising on list preparation, drafting wording and design for letters/invitations.
Follow up communications with participants.
Assisting with the continuing roll-out of InterAction.
Fluent in English and German.
Ability to demonstrates close attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing (facilitate effective work relationships with others).
Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting timescales and priorities.
Possess a genuine interest in design and the creation of high-end, professional corporate materials.

Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team and support the team in the delivery of any time critical projects.
Flexibility to adjust working hours to meet business needs.
Ability to display a consistently positive attitude and adopt a “can do” approach.
IT literate, experienced using MS Word, PowerPoint, EXCEL, Outlook (Adobe Indesign and Interaction are also beneficial).
