Electrical Site Supervisor / Engineer

Your role will be to work with and provide close support to the regional engineer across the allocated operational area and the wider team.
The team will need your assistance with the varied duties across the region which will include site visits at project commencement and later throughout the life of the project.
The primary element of the role will be to co-ordinate the site installation team to provide an efficient service both in terms of out turn cost and the quality of our installations. This will require ongoing communication with the engineer and client’s representatives as the projects progress.
Safety is of paramount importance to Multitech and our clients, along with the health and well being of our staff. At a site level, you will be responsible for ensuring that we maintain the appropriate level of safety at all times during our operations.
As part of the role you will be required to undertake information gathering along with the initial preparation and costing of variations for projects within your region on behalf of the regional engineer.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the role
·Support and work in close co-ordination with the regional engineer
·Daily communication and supervision of a regional team of site personnel
·Visit projects to represent the team and the company
·Promote and uphold the expected company personal standards for the site personnel in relation to PPE and safety, company clothing, communication and time keeping
·Carry out site safety reports
·Organisation of our site activities to meet our client’s requirements
·Preparation of plant and material requisitions prior to delivery
·Co-ordination of occasional sub contractors
·Ensure that the team meets the expected site installation times and quality
·Review time sheets and record vouchers against the area work schedule on a weekly basis. Following review, carry out any corrective actions as necessary
·Collect client correspondence such e-mails and site instructions etc
·Provide holiday and absence cover within the team where appropriate
·Maintain and improve client relationships and assist in the company’s growth by identifying new opportunities/ areas of work within your region
·Identify variation opportunities across the regional projects
·Respond to client requests for additional works and information
·Gather sufficient information to enable accurate prices to be quoted
·Prepare variation quotations up to sign off stage
·Obtain site instructions for quotes submitted and required including any supporting documents from site to support our later financial submissions
·Carry out on site plant and equipment reconciliations
·Assist the regional engineers with the financial aspects of the area projects
Health and Safety
·Ensure that our works on site are always carried out with safety in mind
·Promote our positive health and safety culture
·Maintain a zero tolerance approach to health and safety non-conformities
·Preparation of RAMS risk assessments and method statements
·Participate in regional team briefings
·Deliver health and safety toolbox talks
·Actively seek to minimise any health and safety risks on and off site
·Inform senior management of any safety concerns without delay
Skills and Experience
·Electrical installation qualifications and knowledge
·JIB graded card skills card or equivalent
·Experience of working within the UK construction industry
·Full clean UK driving license
·Preferably resides within easy access to our Head office in Great Dunmow
·Past experience of directing / overseeing the work of others on site
·Experience of temporary electrical and mechanical installations
·Previous supervisory experience in an M & E environment on multiple sites
·Mechanical qualification / experience
·Past experience writing RAMS / method statements / risk assessments
·Knowledge and experience of costing additional works
·Health and safety qualification – SSSTS or SMSTS
·Past involvement of staff training
·Evidence of client relationship building
Support and Training
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake training and development and will be provided with comprehensive training in our internal policies and processes, including spending time working within other functions within our Head Office.
