The Systems Finance Business Analyst (SFBA) is responsible for ensuring that the organization maximizes the value it receives from its investment in enterprise software and line-of-business applications. The SFBA is a liaison between business teams and departments (the business end of the organization) and Information Technology (the providers of services).
The SFBA has a deep understanding of financial business processes as they relate to a multinational manufacturing business and of ERP software used in such an enterprise. The SFBA helps specifying processes, developing and maintaining software solutions.
This person works closely with the end-users to understand business objectives and provide daily support activities. These include: end-user support; documentation; system and report writing and testing.
The primary responsibilities of the Business Analyst are:
Analyzing business needs and identifying business problems
Gathering, defining, and documenting business requirements
Documenting, flow charting and mapping business processes
Proposing solutions to business problems and simplifying business processes by leading and participating in efficiency and effectivity projects
Contributing to the simplification of Enterprise Application Architecture
Developing and measuring KPIs and other metrics
Performing data analysis using BI and other data analysis tools
Evaluating vendors and new products
Developing and writing use cases and requirements specifications using control concepts to assess the exposures resulting from ineffective or missing control practices.
Developing and writing test cases and performing software testing.
Is a major contributor to the definition, documentation, and ongoing improvement of internal workflows and processes
Provides first-line support to the global financial users of the ERP and financial systems.
Assists with the development and implementation of training material and documentation including procedures, manuals, e-learning tools, SOPs, work instructions and other materials based on financial policies and procedures.
Monitors the appropriate user security is applied to the enterprise financial system and performs routine audits.
Identifies and defines system and report enhancements to the current ERP system.
Act as a project manager of designated projects.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
Experience of working in a global multi-divisional environment
VBA/SQL (support level) experience
Recent experience of an ERP system implementation such as replacement, upgrade or go-live
Previous relevant business systems analysis experience with ERP systems i.e. Experience in a medium – scale, international commercial organization dealing with internationally distributed operations and senior stakeholders, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
Superior Excel skills, including pivot tables. Ideally including PowerPivot, Power View, DAX & MDX
Working knowledge of BI and other data analysis tools
Working knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration
Basic knowledge of the software development lifecycle
Strong abilities to visualize information and processes
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication, negotiation, project leadership, and interpersonal skills able to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Comfortable influencing in a matrixed environment to achieve results on behalf of the business.
