Exciting New Manufacturing Engineer- New Projects, based in Hertfordshire!!!
Purpose of Role:
The position of New Projects manufacturing engineer requires creative, analytical and developmental thinking as well as qualifications and experience in a relevant field of manufacturing. The engineer will be responsible for the successful delivery of new projects and ensure the companies quality, cost and delivery targets are met.
An essential skill is the ability to communicate with stakeholders involved in all stages of manufacture, both verbally and in writing. Enthusiasm, cooperation and a positive outlook as well as a thorough understanding of the technology and manufacturing concepts involved is important, as is the ability to prioritise.
Main purpose of job
To define, obtain approval for and control the project plan.
Deliver the project on time and to budget, ensuring all internal, sub-contract & material requirements.
Ensure product verification is considered along with product manufacturability.
Coordinate the business specialists within the business and ensure thorough analysis of processes, tooling designs (with clear definition) and all necessary approvals are document in accordance with procedures before commencement of task.
Obtain customer approval for processes which require customer approval in accordance with customer specification. Ensure that processes are defined accurately after development. Produce clear and understandable product validations solution/instruction and manufacturing work instructions, in accordance with customer’s specifications & the company’s procedures.
Ensure first article inspection requirements met.
To document the progress of projects & provide regular up-dates to the commercial team and key stakeholders.
Coordinate and chair milestone meetings.
Ensure that ‘best practice’ production techniques are used.
To provide delivery progress and engineering support to internal & external customers.
To undertake special projects as requested.
To provide cover for other engineering disciplines as requested.
Create/maintain all documentation associated with the manufacture of components assigned to the team
Educated to HNC/HND or Degree Level
Experience of working within either aerospace or automotive industries
You must be organized, able to prioritize work effectively, and to work well under pressure.
You will have good written and oral communication skills and a positive approach to all areas of your work.
