The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on at all times. As well as supporting day to day business operations, you’ll be working on the finance and accounting processes that are needed to keep Dunham Massey running smoothly. You’ll learn to champion best practice when it comes to business support, and will always be looking at how you can offer help where needed.

What it’s like to work here

Dunham Massey is a 3,000-acre estate situated approximately 10 miles south of central Manchester and three miles south of Altrincham. Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford, gave it to the National Trust in 1976 and today it attracts over 500,000 visitors a year. This elegant Georgian mansion, set within a magnificent 300 acre deer park and including one of Britain’s finest winter gardens, is a very popular visitor attraction with over 100 staff. The busy team has a strong commercial focus and a fast-paced environment. Within the park walls there is also a shop, café, restaurant and ice cream parlour. On the wider estate, there are 20 farms, 100 cottages, a golf course and an award winning housing development. The house, garden and parkland hide many layers of history and have many stories to tell.

What you’ll be doing

Known for your attention to detail and can do attitude, you’ll help provide a comprehensive finance administration service to your property team. You’ll be comfortable counting money, and using a variety of IT packages to help create reports, keep accurate records, and write timely and accurate internal/external communications. In essence, you’ll assist with the delivery of an effective business support function.

Please note, you’ll be asked to work some bank holidays in this role.

Practical experience and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Have clear written and verbal communication skills

And it would be helpful if you can demonstrate the following experience on your CV;

Experience in an Administrative role where you have had to prioritise your own workload
Advanced IT Skills and ability to use digital/social media and other marketing channels
Good eye for detail with experience of records management
Basic knowledge of Health & Safety
