Our client, a leading retailer in the Manchester area is looking to recruit a PR and Social Media Manager to join their busy and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and implement a PR and Social Media communications strategy.
Develop and manage the Corporate Social Responsibility programme for the centre liaising with department heads and external stakeholders.
Ensure that all Health and Safety processes relevant to PR activity are fully compliant.
Manage core press office (proactive and reactive) including first response in crisis management scenarios.
Create and agree a budget for the PR strategy and ensure all activities are cost effective.
Monitor, evaluate and report PR output to key internal/external stakeholders on a monthly/quarterly basis.
Be the key external outward facing PR role, working and developing relationships with key stakeholders within Manchester, regionally and nationally.
Create a network of key media contacts to promote retail and brand activities
Communicate and research potential PR opportunities from within the Centre.
Seek opportunities to promote the brand, ensuring its reputation is enhanced, amongst all retailers, corporate and community stakeholders.

Person Specification/Requirements:

Fully understanding the ethos and brand values of Manchester and its audience.
Possess extensive media contacts (trade, local, regional, nationally and specialists titles) and experience within the North West.
Understanding of working within a retail/commercial environment will be advantageous
Minimum level of at least 3 years experience working at a senior level in either in-house or agency role.
The role requires strong communication, influencing and organisational skills with proven experience (superior proofreading ability) of working in a busy/proactive department
Strong social medial/digital understanding including best practices and emerging trends within the social media/digital space and how this fits into the overall PR communications strategy
Manage the PR aspect of potential crisis situations, liaising with senior individuals at head office
Confident, assertive, self-motivated and a self-starter
