Transport Manager, Sittingbourne, Â£35,000 – Â£45,000, National CPC (ESSENTIAL)
My Sittingbourne-based client, is recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to establish and manage a new delivery network.
I am only responding to applicants that have their Individual CPC Licence (National) and are able to manage the Company’s Operator’s Licence.
Key skills and responsibilities include:
Logistics – a full understanding of Transport Industry including costings and invoicing with a comprehensive understanding of Contract Law and Standard Transport Terms and Conditions
Individual CPC License Holder and ability to manage the Company Operator’s Licence
Extensive knowledge on legislation regarding Road Transport Operations for Tachographs, running transport, driver’s hours and traffic/road safety law
Tachographs – fully trained and experienced with tachographs including retrieving, analysing and reporting the information to comply with required legislation
Widespread route planning and geographical knowledge while experienced in multi-drop transport management
Responsible for managing the loading and unloading of all vehicles, managing all goods in through warehouse (booking in loads etc.) while planning and scheduling the delivery of goods while making sure that delivery deadlines are met
Negotiating the services and pricing of local and national 3rd party carriers, couriers and haulage companies
Developing robust processes & policies and implementing new processes and procedures
Working closely with sales personnel to achieve service industry deliveries to customer base while taking into account transport capacity and planning ahead accordingly
Knowledge of Excel and related specialist logistics software
Will be joining the company management team so will be contributing to the driving the company forward
Ability to manage a number of projects and initiatives simultaneously
