This is a 6 month internship paying £1,100 per month with the intention of converting to a permanent job paying £19,000 per annum. You must have to right to work in the UK to apply for this role.
A digital communications agency with offices in Soho and Amersham who help their clients deliver incredible customer experiences through designing user experience, defining business strategy and researching brand audiences. How can you expect to spend your day?
You will join the company technology team responsible for both front and back-end development of beautiful websites and apps.
You’ll be working on web application development projects, staying within scope, managing your project timelines, and delivering clean quality code.
Tasks you can expect to learn about and undertake include:
You’ll work hand in hand with the UX, Design and Client Services teams.
You’ll be expected to chip-in to the pitch process and provide valuable technical input.
You’ll flag-up out of scope features and functions as opportunities for the client’s roadmap.
Weekly sprint reviews, daily hangouts: expect to find yourself on camera with clients regularly, even if all you do is listen at first. Later, you’ll be expected to take a more active part when the subject turns technical or functional.
The team produce rapid prototypes in html and css so you’ll get a chance to work fast and loose at times. Don’t worry, one of the UX team will pair with you during this part of any sprint.
You may also find yourself working on one or two of your own exciting side-products.
All projects come with a certain amount of project administration these days, whether that’s accurate time-recording, producing functional specifications, or general documentation around the code base and you’ll be expected to keep this up-to-date without being nagged. Sorry. That’s just how it is.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone looking to kick start a successful career in development across both websites and apps by joining a hugely creative agency working with a range of great clients.
Desired skills, experience and personality:
Sass and/or LESS.
Knowledge and experience of working with grids, even when hand-coding.
Responsive and adaptive techniques for desktop, tablet and mobile.
Back-end experience with PHP.
Experience with at least one back-end framework, e.g. Laravel or CodeIgniter.
Knowledge of RESTful web services.
Version control (Git).
