COMMERCIAL MANAGER ( CONSTRUCTION )
To be successful in application for this role, the candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of contract administration, including procurement, commercial governance, risk & opportunity management and cost forecasting & reporting.
Knowledge of construction techniques and sequences is also essential as well as being conscious of corporate social responsibility, safety and sustainability.
Key responsibilities and experience:
. Participate, prepare and review contracts and tenders to achieve commercially advantageous outcomes for a construction project and mitigating risks.
. Provide input in construction project commercial/legal/strategic meetings.
. Provide advice to Project Managers and Administrators on administration aspects including site instructions, optimal labour allowances, accurate forecasting methods and the protection of margins.
. Provide advice to Project and Construction Managers on the administration and profitability aspects of construction projects through the internal cost reporting and forecasting process.
. Manage insurance needs and settlements of construction projects that may, include public liability, professional indemnity and contract works.
. Manage the procurement process from inception to completion, ensuring the tender process is in accordance with company guidelines related to Authority to Let?, as well as sub-contractor agreements, and are within budget.
. Make recommendations to senior project staff on commercial and contract issues that are specific project related.
. Maintain the risk and opportunity management process for the project.
. Nurture and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
. Resolve disputes related to payments outstanding to sub-contractors and creditors.
. Good communication skills at all levels, internal and external are essential.
