One of the UKs largest car park operators is seeking an Area Manager to manage a cluster of car parks in the London Area. This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week and will require one in 3 weekends.
The main purpose of the Area Manager will be to take full operational responsibility for a Cluster of car parks and through the effective management of front line teams. The role will assist with improving the service to customers whilst ensuring the standards are maintained in each location. Duties include:
Leading a highly motivated successful frontline team within the Cluster driving standards & compliance across the Cluster.
Regular communication with the front line team through weekly meetings with minutes taken to ensure accountability.
Analysing management information in a way that allows it to influence any Business decisions made.
Developing and maintaining strong relations with the Operations Centre to monitor and continuously improve service levels reacting efficiently to issues arising.
Maintaining good communications and consulting regularly with the Business Manager, Operations Centre team and frontline teams, seeking assistance and agreeing on actions to resolve outstanding issues.
Deputising for the Business Manager in their absence.
Undertaking performance review processes with all members of the frontline teams addressing areas of poor performance immediately and offering support to close gaps.
Recruiting and inducting new colleagues including the management of the probationary period review process.
Managing the front line teams regarding all front line operational activity including maintenance schedules, cleanliness (clean, safe and working) and cash collection and processing.
Ensuring primary customer service standards are delivered by maintaining the customer facing car park equipment and through building strong links with the Operations Centre.
Ensuring a fully functioning operation whilst fulfilling a face to face customer service role.
Maintaining parking control equipment, following maintenance schedules through use of car park technology.
Conducting of statutory checks and audits at car parks as required.
Monitoring the appearance of car parks, taking action to ensure that company standards on safe, clean and working are achieved and maintained..
The ideal Area Manager will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
Knowledge of computer skills to an intermediate level, including Word, Outlook, Excel.
Knowledge of automated equipment, car park equipment (desirable).
Experience of managing a mechanically technological driven operation.
Previous experience in a customer facing environment.
Experience in managing and supporting others.
Educated to A level or equivalent standard.
A full UK driving licence
