RS Components are the market leaders in the supply of Industrial and Electronic products. As part of our Trade Counter team you will be at the sharp edge of our operation serving customers from many industries and providing solutions that we can tailor to meet our customer’s needs. The small/medium sized teams in our branches are able to build great relationships with local customers and provide a friendly and supportive service with the knowledge that the back-up of the full RS range of products and services is there from our Head Office Operations in Corby and Nuneaton.
About the role
In the role of the Sales Assistant you will identify our customers needs and requirements which will include providing advice and recommendations for products and services. You will carry out product search queries and identify RS stock numbers from our supplier part numbers by using our catalogue, website and other technical data sources.
You will play a pro-active part in acquiring new customers along with maintaining strong relationships that are already established. You will also investigate, record and resolve customer issues from general and technical questions whilst advising on delivery options and despatches.
This position requires you to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately together with undertaking warehouse and stock management activities ensuring that all orders are processed within agreed service levels. Please note that this role includes warehouse activities which include manual working and some lifting.
As part of the Trade Counter Team you will engage in Continuous Improvement and share best practice with colleagues together with having a strong focus on supporting the Field Sales Team and other key support departments within the business.
What we are looking for
Previous experience in Customer Services and/or sales environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure in a customer facing environment to give a high standard of customer service, resolving any issues with customers demands
Previous experience of working in a retail/warehouse environment
Customer focused; results orientated
Computer literacy required
A driving license is desirable
