Are you looking to start an exciting and rewarding career at a company committed to investing in your training and development?
Join us as a Maintenance Technician Apprentice for the opportunity to gain valuable skills, qualifications and experience, whilst being part of a company dedicated to building a sustainable future.
As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you’ll train as a multi-skilled technician in mechanical and electrical engineering within our Water Recycling Services team.
As part of your apprenticeship you’ll spend up to four years training and learning. This will be through a mixture of classroom study and on-the-job training as you work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
Working alongside our experienced staff, you’ll become an expert in operating and maintaining equipment, running processes and tests, and fixing faults at treatment plants and pumping stations.
Your first year will be spent on a fully expensed residential course at Grantham College with the other new apprentices. You’ll also get the opportunity to spend time at your work base, getting to know your new team.
You’ll be enthusiastic, hardworking and ambitious with a real desire to start your career on our apprenticeship scheme.
You’ll need (or be expecting to achieve) five GCSEs at grade A* to C in English, Maths and a mixture of three scientific or technical subjects. Keen to learn new things; you’ll be a good communicator with a desire to make a real contribution to your team.
Please note that after completing the first year of your residential college placement you will be based at Flag Fen Water Recycling Centre in Peterborough (PE1 5QR). A requirement to be on standby as part of your working week means that we ask you to live within 30 minutes travel time of this location.
We’re one of the leading providers of water and water recycling services in the UK and our organisation is an industry benchmark for quality and customer service. But what makes us unique is our commitment to providing the development people need to make a real difference. Our career opportunities provide on-going learning and professional development within a challenging work environment which provides a vital service for our customers.
Initial interviews will be held locally in early May 2016. If you are successful at this stage you will be invited to an assessment centre in early June.
The apprenticeship will start on Sunday 31 July 2016.
