Buyer based in London shaping the ranges for local stores and regions

Your new company
Our client is a dynamic FMCG retailing business with a market-leading position in the UK. They are truly dedicated to what they do and are looking for a high calibre Buyer to identify the right range for every store in the London region in order to influence the central buying teams to help deliver the offer.

Your new role
You will be the leader for shaping the customer offer in London, developing and delivering a range that is tailored specifically for the different regions in the principality. You will be responsible for the enhancement of the product offer through working cross-functionally with other Buyers as well as sourcing exclusive products for the varying store formats in London to optimise sales and maximise profitability. You will also be required to liaise with the field based management team to gain their trust and input in to enhancing ranges and ensuring that the right product is in the right store. To achieve this, you will be required to develop a market-leading understanding of product ranges in terms of quality and cost along with the ability to develop new and innovate ranges in line with customer needs

What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to be a first class negotiator with a fantastic eye for detail, underpinned by the ability to think outside the box and come up with new ideas and innovations. You will have the ability to identify local opportunities and delivery them at pace by influencing and motivating the other Buyers. This role would suit a Buyer from a FMCG retail background who will enjoy the flexibility and freedom to work cross-functionally across a broad variety of product areas. As such, you will need to be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, excellent IT skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast moving and highly reactive trading environment. Strong influencing skills are essential.
