Willmott Dixon is currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager (Project Director) to join our Housing Division on a major housing project in Tower Hamlets. Candidates should ideally be able to lead the project team, and have experience of major residential project delivery, manage the supply chain and to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers’ expectations. The main role of an Operations Manager at Willmott Dixon is to develop and implement project strategy and delivery programme, ensure effective communication and implementation to deliver the project on time, challenge and interrogate reporting on progress, and instigate corrective actions as required. It is equally important in this role to manage the overall operational and commercial aspects of the project to achieve the budget, review performance against targets and identify and manage potential risks and opportunities; all whilst leading the project team and supply chain relationships and ensure its balance and shape to deliver the project. In addition you will need to develop and monitor strategies (including sustainability) to deliver a quality build in accordance with the requirements of the project. This individual is likely to start working with us on Phase 3 of Aberfeldy project in Tower Hamlets, London circa Â£80m. This is a multi-phase regeneration project creating 1,176 homes, shops, healthcare and community facilities over 10 years. AV is being built in several phases with Phase 3 starting April/May of 2016. The location in east London is very close to East India Road DLR station. The project is almost unique by combining mixed tenures (PRS, For-Sale, Affordable) in a tenure blind estate designed to create an exceptional community feel focused on a central street area with space and retail facilities.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential Criteria * A track record of successful delivery of projects * A track record of resolving technical, operational and contractual issues and / or disputes. * A variety of construction operations * Controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets. * Reading and accurately interpreting contract documents, programmes, drawings and technical specifications. * Managing teams including the supply chain, direct employees and consultants. * Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc) * Appropriate CSCS card * First Aid at Work certificate * Valid driving licence * SMSTS certificate Desirable Criteria * Relevant degree * Working towards MCIOB
