Employee Relations Manager –

My key client based in Hertfordshire, a highly established Professional Services company has the opportunity for two Employee Relations Managers to join their organisation on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the HR Director, the Employee Relations Manager will ensure effective performance and attendance through effective implementation of performance management processes, meeting required standards. Within this busy and dynamic environment, you will provide effective and efficient ER support and also represent at employment tribunal if required. You will also coach the team, ensuring sound processes relating to the recruitment, performance and development of an effective Employee Relations team is met.

The Employee Relations Manager will ensure that all advisors provide efficient, consistent, business context advice in line with up to date legislation.

The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for the management of highly complex ER casework.

Key Responsibilities of the Employee Relations Manager:

Provision of a hands on and specialist HR service through the application of specialist professional expertise as well as giving direction to the team.
You will provide specialist expertise and guidance in order to assist in maintaining and managing an Employee Relations caseload, ensuring that cases are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
Provision of accurate and effective advice to Line Managers on the management of Employee Relations issues and cases such as Discipline and Grievances.
Provides guidance and support to direct reports in meeting standards through structured performance management processes etc.
Management of HR projects designed to achieve the organisations objectives
Leads advice to customer on occasional very complex cases/queries
Supports customer stakeholder processes to quality assess HR advice service and uses feedback to review on-going service
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required of the Employee Relations Manager:

CIPD qualified
Strong Employee Relations background
Experience of managing, developing and coaching managers
Authoritative knowledge of HR work practices including a broader sector/commercial awareness
Strong supervisory skills, with the ability to lead and stretch a team through clear direction and day-to-operational requirements
Experience of change management
Updating and implementing policies and procedures
Thorough and up-to-date understanding of all aspects of employment law, best practice and current thinking in HR management
