After a highly successfully 2015, this Big-4 firm’s International Social Security team are looking for an Assistant Manager to match growing demand. This is an excellent opportunity for a for a junior level tax practitioner who is looking to step up their career in this Big-4 firm. As an Assistant Manager you will work on a broad range of clients advising on the social security implications of their international assignment and business traveller programmes.

Client Details

The International Social Security team are specialists within the Global Mobility Services group who, working closely with colleagues who specialise in tax, assist clients from all sectors. The successful candidate will be able to work independently whilst also being an excellent team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships with tax colleagues in the national Global Mobility Services group and managing the work of junior members of the team.

Description

Your primary daily responsibilities will include:

– Maintaining good relationships with clients

– Being day to day contact for Global Mobility Service colleagues with International Social Security queries

– Preparation of advice regarding application of relevant UK domestic and international rules/guidance to establish social security coverage periods

– Management of social security compliance processes

– Identifying opportunities for additional advisory or compliance services within existing Global Mobility Service client base

– Assistance with preparation of proposals of all sizes in response to RFPs received for Global Mobility Services

– Delivery of client training sessions and seminars

– Preparation and delivery of internal training for Global Mobility Service practice on International Social Security matters/developments

– Assisting with the personal and professional development of junior team members

– Proactive maintenance of technical knowledge and keeping up to date developments at both domestic and international level

– Keeping clients informed of new developments and assessing opportunities that arise from them

– Actively participate in regional and global networks of International Social Security specialists

– Assessing the impact on state welfare entitlements linked to social security and advising clients on these

Profile

Due to the range of tax issues covered successful candidates will ideally have experience in some of the following areas:

Qualifications and Skills

– excellent organisation/project management skills

– communicate with impact, both in speech and writing, and in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear

– capability of working to deadlines, showing resilience under pressure an ability to apply knowledge to non-routine situations

– ability to demonstrate sound professional judgement including the capacity to identify issues/concerns and consult where appropriate with more senior staff

Experience and Background

– experience in advising clients on international social security matters

– working knowledge of expatriate tax is preferred, but not essential

– be energetic, committed, and ambitious

– high level of personal responsibility and accountability for own work

– capacity to receive positive, constructive feedback
