Our client, a leading Insurance Organisation based in Surrey is seeking an experienced Project Manager for an excellent permanent opportunity.
This Project Manager will be responsible for the management of business and IT projects from initiation through to delivery into the Production systems, as allocated by the Projects Manager or Head of Programme Management.
*Adhere to Project Management Framework and Software Development Lifecycle process.
*To define and agree and document the scope of projects, deliverables, plans and to maintain the scope throughout the life of the project.
*To plan, schedule, and resource projects to meet the agreed project scope in line with the programme timetable, while maintaining the project budget.
*To monitor the progress of the project, ensuring that project communications are filtered appropriately to the project sponsor and throughout IT and the business.
*Sign off on all project definitions.
*Ensure that necessary business decisions are taken in a timely manner in association with the project deadlines.
*Notify the project team of any major changes to the expected business benefits or project scope.
*Execute change control procedure if required to ensure that the project is successful.
*Liaise with external resources at project/tactical level to ensure external deliverables are as specified and to plan.
*To assess risks and issues that may impact the project, and to maintain a log of these. Resolving all risks and issues and implementing contingency plans as required.
*To manage the project from inception to implementation, driving the project through to completion.
*Post implementation support within the agreed warranty period and review of projects as agreed by the Programme Manager.
*To motivate project staff to obtain maximum efficiency.
*Provide input to the overall direction and strategy for IT and the Business.
*To deputise for the Programme Manager where necessary, including the management of staff and projects for the project management team.
*Proven Project Management experience including managing
*All phases of development: analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and hand over to support
*Experienced in following a formal Systems Development Life Cycle, with entry/exit criteria, quality checkpoints and governance
*Agile knowledge and experience
*Experienced in multiple methodologies, at least waterfall and RAD
*Experienced in following formal change, risk and issue management
*Experience of formal resource planning is preferred, ideally using tools such as Atlantic Global, Clarity or similar
*Thorough knowledge of project planning, tracking and reporting techniques, including use of MS Project.
*Proven experience of taking learnings from post implementation reviews for Projects, applying these learnings on future projects and measuring the improvement.
*Proven experience of matrix management of Teams
*A strong delivery focus, with a good understanding of business priorities and IT drivers.
*Highly effective written and oral communication skills and a high degree of numeracy.
*The ability to peer review documentation including that produced by other IT Project Managers.
*The ability to produce high quality plans, and to deliver against these plans, often to tight deadlines.
