Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Surrey
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop company products focussing on telecommunication basestation equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to develop mechanical designs from initial ideas and concepts through to full production. The role is expected to work closely with other members of the company to achieve the required product development goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and development of Mechanical components for telecommunication equipment, 19′ rack and harsh environments.
Responsible for the full life cycle of the product design.
Thermal modelling and calculation of the product.
Technical support to customers, sub-contractors and EMS.
Documentation and support of designs within a project environment.
Flexible working attitude and ability to work independently and take the initiative.
Some overseas travel may be required.
Five or more years’ experience in innovative design of mechanisms and assemblies for use in various environments.
Strong technical and creative ability.
Design for low and high volume manufacture
Injection Moulding (Conventional & Thin-Wall)
All Casting techniques, Stamping, Extruding, Conventional and Precision Machining
Design for Rapid Prototype/Cost Effective Prototyping/Rapid Tooling, DfM and DfT
3D Tools – Solidworks
2D Tools – Autocad
Appreciation of Thermo-fluids (related to electronics packaging), stress analysis, CFD, FEA, EMC, RF, Reliability, etc
