Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. is the entertainment arm of the world’s leading communications company, Time Warner. Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. comprises numerous separate divisions including Television, Home Video, Theatrical, On-line and Consumer Products.
The Consumer Products team license the intellectual property rights of the Warner Bros portfolio, including the Looney Tunes, Harry Potter, Scooby Doo, Batman, Superman, Tom & Jerry and Flintstones.
The Warner Bros Consumer Products EMEA, Legal & Business Affairs Department is responsible for providing all legal and contract administration support to the Warner Bros Consumer Products business for the entire region.
Our business covers many categories spanning publishing, food, toys, apparel, housewares, accessories, personal care, domestics, gifts, stationery, promotions and interactive games.
We are currently seeking a temporary Brand Assurance Representative who will be responsible for reviewing products featuring any Warner Bros. owned intellectual properties (includes Cartoon Network, DC Comics, TV properties as well as theatricals and the classic brands such as Looney Tunes, Baby Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry, Superman and Batman) within a contractually stipulated time-frame in the following areas: character likeness; legal copyright/trademark information; Warner Bros.’ Policies and brand management.
·With knowledge of the manufacturing process and a knowledge of Warner Bros. policies and procedures, reviews and provides detailed comments on the concept, pre-production and final samples submitted by licensees on items including product, packaging, commercials, POP and Promotions.
·Client Services – building relationships, attending meetings, updating clients, communicating and advising on product approval.
·Obtains a one-on-one relationship with licensee counterpart, as well as the licensee designers (artists, sculptors, etc.) to ensure understanding and a smooth working approval process.
·Interacts directly with sculptors and designers encountering difficulty with character likeness; especially in terms of three-dimensional product and plush.
·Evaluates licensee’s schedules and manufacturing processes to facilitate their compliance with our product approval processes.
·Obtains all necessary third party approvals from Artists, Sales, Marketing, Senior Management, Production, Advertising/Publicity and Talent, and DC Comics in New York.
·Works with the legal department to protect trademarks and copyrights.
·Creates and maintains Product Approval Forms which serve as a Legal record under the contract with the licensee.
·Follows up with licensees regarding merchandise development and production and audits license compliance to Brand Assurance procedures.
·Attends regular staff meetings and all pertinent interdepartmental meetings with departments such as Creative Services, Marketing, and Sales.
Previous experience in licensing is essential – ideally within a brand licensing or fashion retail environment
Previous experience within a client facing environment – much have experience in direct communication with stakeholders
