The role involves supporting the production of a range of complex and specialist equipment for the industrial sector and to implement process change and improvement whilst simultaneously enhancing the excellent quality of the product.
My client is a market leader in the Manufacturing and Production of specialist equipment and components for the industrial sector and major OEM’s.
For the last 50 years they have developed there Products to drive the business into a market leading position, utilising an impressive research and development department to define solutions for a wide and strong client base.
The Manufacturing Engineer role available for my client – a market leader in the Manufacturing and Production of specialist equipment is looking for the following responsibilities to be taken on by the successful candidate at their Surrey site –
Work with the operations team to maintain and improve the efficiency of the manufacturing processes.
Provide on-going support to the operations team to ensure economic manufacturing to the correct build standard.
Support implementation of process control and continuous improvement activities.
Assist in implementing modern manufacturing methods (E.G. Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing) and effectively apply them to reduce lead times and subsequently improve quality, on-time delivery and cost to the customer.
Continuously work to reduce the levels of process scrap and rework through improved workflow techniques based on root cause analysis data (ideally 8D problem solving technique).
Provide technical assistance to other departments in the resolution of any problems on existing products.
Develop preventative maintenance programs and train operators to carry out routine maintenance
Provide suitable and correct information to enable others to perform their duties effectively (process data, jigs & fixture CAD drawings)
Preparation/updating of new/existing manufacturing documentation (SOP’s) and tooling required for product manufacture.
Apply knowledge and skill to assist in the introduction of new technology in order to improve quality and productivity.
Works within company guidelines and contributes to their development, the objective being to maximise company efficiency whilst meeting customer requirements.
Promote the company Health and Safety policy and practices in all areas of the working environment.
The Manufacturing Engineer role available at my clients Surrey site will consist of the following –
A proactive and positive approach to Manufacturing processes and improvements utilising lean to drive change.
A hands on approach to delivering change and working with Mechanical/Electrical/Pneumatic systems.
Excellent communication skills to drive improvements at all levels.
