DATA ANALYST – LondonMy client is currently recruiting a Data Analyst to come on-board and work within my clients Data Quality Improvement Programme team in order to provide assurance that business critical data, KPI reporting and regulatory returns are robust and meet all relevant requirements. The successful candidate will undertake a comprehensive review of my client’s data collection, storage, processing, use and governance and make recommendations to ensure that it is fit for purpose.
RESPONSIBILITIES*To support the Data Quality Improvement Programme Manager to raise awareness, standards and skills across Peabody to embed good practice within business as usual to improve data quality. *To conduct data analysis within the context of people, business process and systems and data flows, across the Peabody Group to understand the data quality challenges that the organisation faces today and in the future.*To work with disparate business (front and back office teams) and technical areas to achieve and document a single agreed set of data definitions and data owners, business terms and rules related to key data items. *To deliver a comprehensive Data Dictionary and gain agreement on the scope of business critical data (and data owners) *To deliver Data Flow Diagrams and Logical Data Models for key Data Entities aligned to Business Processes. *To support the Data Quality Improvement Programme Manager to produce Business Case documentation for initiatives to undertake improvements to processes and/or systems to improve Data Quality overall. *To deliver proposals for monitoring data quality for the key data repositories (databases).*To follow Peabody Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace. You may be required to undertake specific Health and Safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider as part of your duties.
SKILLS*Experience of working as part of a ‘Business As Usual’ team to work through data quality issues and conduct root cause analysis and present findings with solution options and recommendations in a logical and reasoned manner. *Experience of participation in technology-enabled change projects, including experience of data requirements, diagnostics, data migration, data transformation, reporting (operational and management information), testing, cutover, reconciliations and other implementation activities with a strong focus on data.*Expertise in MS Visio to review and make recommendations to business processes changes based on data quality needs. *Excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel for analysis and to present findings. *Experienced in data analysis and management, with a strong awareness of data governance, best practice, management tools and processes to support data quality.*Proven experience of interacting with stakeholders at all levels across the business and IT hierarchy (telephone, email, face-to-face, workshops).*Strong and professional communicator with proven ability in describing complex data issues and their implications in business terms to non-technical stakeholders.
