Responsible for delivering work streams within multiple projects. You will direct, manage and motivate the project team, and run the stages on a day-to-day basis by planning and managing the deployment of resources to meet project milestones and financial commitments.
The role will focus on complex single projects, or on multiple projects with a value of Â£1-5m. The Project Manager will have significant experience in managing engagement of this size from initiation to delivery, and will be highly proficient in change management, and managing the scope of projects.
Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, and proactively communicating project information to all stakeholders.
Leading and managing the project team, with the authority and responsibility to run the project on a day-to-day basis.
Applying standard project management approaches to the specific requirements of the project.
Designing and applying an appropriate project management framework for the project (using relevant project standards).
Build and sustain effective communications with other roles involved in the project as required.
Tailor expert knowledge to meet specific circumstances.
Managing the production of the required deliverables.
Planning and monitoring the project.
Adopting any delegation and use of project roles within agreed reporting structures.
Liaison with Head of IT Delivery, Head of IT Ideas, Head of IT Service and 3rd party suppliers to ensure overall direction and integrity of the project.
Identifying, managing and mitigating project risks, including the development of contingency plans.
Overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary.
Change control and any required configuration management.
Reporting through agreed reporting lines on project progress through Weekly / Period Reports and stage assessments.
Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project.
Managing project administration.
Ensuring that the solution is of acceptable quality.
Conducting post project evaluation to assess how well projects were managed.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
The ideal Project Manager will havesignificant Project Management experience within a software development and businesschange environment and have good knowledge of risk management and theprinciples and practicalities of running projects.
Proven experience of Microsoft applicationsincluding Project and Visio and must be able to demonstrate personalcontribution to successful project outcomes.
Experience of using Prince 2 and Agile andability to determinate application of relevant technique in use. A relevantqualification would be highly advantageous
A minimum of five years project deliveryexperience, leading IT Projects
Experience of managing projects in excess ofÂ£1m
Experience of software development,infrastructure rollout and implementation skills
Delivery of Retail based projects isdesirable.
Knowledge of Gaming & Gambling industrywould be beneficial.
Ability to liaise with all level stakeholdersand 3rd party suppliers is essential.
Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
