We are looking for a Public Sector Fundraising Manager to generate new funding opportunities from Government departments, statutory bodies, lottery boards and similar bodies.

Job Role:

·Identify new opportunities for funding Age UK’s work from the public sector through desktop research and internal and external engagement

·Engage with colleagues in Services, Influencing and across Age UK to identify and facilitate cultivation / influencing opportunities for public sector funders.

·Co-organise cultivation events and site visits utilising key stakeholders as appropriate e.g. Directors / CEO.

·Build relationships and raise awareness of Age UK with public sector funder contacts

·Manage the process for developing and submitting funding proposals, including input and sign off from colleagues and partners.

·Gather content and write funding proposals and supporting documentation.

·Lead the team’s function of developing new funding opportunities and efficient and high quality public sector fundraising proposals in accordance with all other relevant protocols and departmental processes.

Profile:

·Experience of managing a portfolio of donors in a public sector, major donor or trust fundraising role

·Demonstrable experience of preparing high-quality written and financial submissions for public sector, major donor or trust funders

·Strong copy writing skills and the ability to write compelling reports/presentations to funders

·Good planning and organisational skills

·Excellent communication skills both written and oral

·Ability to form effective internal working relationships with staff at all levels and build credibility and confidence
