Company Profile:
Our client provides individuals and businesses with extra space in mini-warehouses to store their excess belongings or their long forgotten documents.

Duties:

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of all construction and technical investment projects ranging in value from £2 to £7m per project
  • Ensuring all projects respect the relevant statutory legislation, planning obligations and standards.
  • Provide technical advice to the technical feasibility, design, cost and risk of projects
  • Advise on the need to appoint specialist consultants in order to mitigate project risks
  • Procure, appoint and act as contract administrator for specialist consultants as agreed with your manager
  • Lead and manage any specialist consultants in the production of project deliverables
  • Assist the development manager by producing the documents required for Board Approval;

o Cost Plan

o Construction Programme

o Risk Register

  • Provide Design Management of technically complex projects where required to produce a Concept Design.
  • Validate the project Concept Design, Construction Programme and Cost Plan
  • Obtain approval of the relevant investment board representatives for Design, Programme and Cost.
  • Provide buildability advice at the planning stage regards construction issues such as; flooding & drainage, infrastructure, highways, ecology, archaeology, landscape design, architectural & structural design, sustainability etc
  • Advise on the need to appoint specialist consultants in order to mitigate project risks and to support the planning application
  • Procure, appoint and act as contract administrator for specialist consultants as agreed with manager
  • Lead and manage any specialist consultants in the production of project deliverables
  • Lead the delivery phase of construction and technical investment projects.
  • Procure, appoint and act as contract administrator for the Professional Team as agreed with manager
  • Lead and manage the Professional Team in the production of project deliverables
  • Ensure the Professional Team draws up the tender documentation, in accordance with the standard specification and budget.
  • Complying with procurement rules, select the contracts and organise the contracts signature.
  • Ensure the construction project is carried out to the agreed time, budget and quality.
  • Ensure the project is managed safely and in accordance with the local regulations regarding Health and Safety on Construction sites
  • Comply with the handover procedure
  • Ensure the construction project closeout including a post construction review.
  • Time – Compliance with the schedule
  • Quality – Compliance with the concept requirements, building permits and standards
  • Cost – Compliance with the validated budget
  • Health and Safety – Compliance with the local regulation and with standards

Candidate Profile:

  • A construction degree/HND or similar through experience.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years construction experience ideally at least one new build in retail/logistic environment. Construction experience at the customer’s side (as opposed to the contractor) is considered an advantage
  • Proactively looks for ways to increase customer satisfaction, and ensures a customer oriented attitude in the team.

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills: general office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point)
