The opportunity to teach Business Studies and Economics at an ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form College in Clapton has arisen, and this is your chance to join it! We are looking for a teacher who has experience teaching Business Studies to BTEC (BTEC) course requirements. This is a popular subject at the college and interviews are to take place immediately.

JOB TITLE, Business Studies Teacher
KEY STAGES, Key Stage 4 (KS4) & Key Stage 5 (KS5)
LOCATION, Clapton, London Borough of Hackney – Easily accessible via Clapton Station, London Overground or walking distance from Stratford Station. Those travelling by car can make use of the free on-site parking.
SALARY – £27,819 – £46,365 for Permanent Teacher Contracts or £130 – £180 per day for a Long Term Supply
CONTRACT TYPE, Two Term Contract

START DATE, January 2016 (earlier start dates can be arranged)


Our client is a well established East London Secondary School situated in the London Borough of Hackney. This is an ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form College that will allow you to work with fantastic young people looking to make progress through the course.

The standard of teaching at the Sixth Form College is very high, the Head is looking to meet candidates who have a strong personal presence and look to set an example by showing professionalism and dedication to students.

The Sixth Form boasts excellent facilities including a swimming pool & fully equipped gym, rooftop garden ‘chill out zone’ and an award winning canteen. The School is accessible by public transport; regular train and bus services serve the location and free parking is available on site.


As a newly appointed Business Studies and Economics Teacher you will be required to plan and deliver challenging, engaging and differentiated lessons to BTEC (BTEC) Level 3. Our client school are looking to appoint a Business Studies and Economics Teacher who is ideally available for an immediate start.

You will be working within a Business Studies department who strive to fully develop their pupils to maximise their learning potential. They aim for each and every one of their pupils to experience a varied and diverse curriculum which is learned through the International Dimension of the school.

The Business Studies department aim to foster a learning environment where the emphasis is “about” Business and Economics so their students can develop critical and independent thinking skills, as well as making connections between classroom concepts and the real world, so enabling them to take part in some form of practical business and economic activity.

There are a wide array of extra-curricular activities that are run by the Business Studies and Economics faculty including: Coursework club for BTEC (BTEC) Business Studies, Bank of England interest rate competition, Make your Mark Enterprise Challenge, Visit to Bank of England, Barclays Global Capital, LME, Visiting speaker, European Parliament Strasbourg and Euroscola conference.


The Sixth Form College are looking for a Qualified Business Studies Teacher with a PGCE in FE or or British Equivalent. The School expect the successful candidate to hit the ground running and settle in quickly to a confident, hard working and dedicated Business Department.
