Based in Guildford working for a leading Defence and Space manufacturer the Product Assurance Engineer will provide PA engineering support to project teams
to ensure that projects are delivered against the PA requirements to the contractual PA Plan. Support customer facing, project milestone reviews. Provide input to the evolution and progression of the company’s PA standards.

The Product Assurance Engineering task will be as follows

· Generation of Project PA Plans (and associated documentation, in line with customer requirements and internal processes (plus any other contractual PA documentation)
· Ensure delivery of projects, to the customer, in accordance with project-specific Product Assurance Requirements
· Participation in progress meetings, design reviews, etc., including customer-facing reviews
· Participation (often as Chairperson) in Materials Review Board (MRB) / Non-conformance Review Board (NRB) meetings
· Reporting of PA related metrics to the Product Assurance Group Leader on a regular basis
· Manage / Support / Track ‘PA related’ activities e.g. MIPs / KIPs, non-conformances, progression of Waivers and Deviations,
· To report PA non-compliances and concerns to the project manager and provide plans to mitigate, accordingly
· To provide a professional PA interface between the company and its customers
· Co-ordinate and record the defined engineering processes as provided by the engineering teams and approved by the engineering director, at project-level
· Tracking of strategic actions and ensuring compliance with outputs and schedules
· Managing / Track (such topics as) Parts Approval / Declared Lists (e.g. DCL, DML. DPL) liaising with EEE Parts Engineers and Engineering experts, as appropriate)

To be successful in this position the Product Assurance Engineer will have the following skills, qualifications and knowledge.

· Experience in the space industry or similar, high reliability, engineering environment (Aerospace, Medical, Nuclear, Defence etc.) ideally with some exposure to Product Assurance, in the frame of Project delivery
· Experience in of working to ECSS / MIL standards, but would be beneficial, but not essential
· Technical background and a number of years working in an environment in which quality assurance has been a major consideration
· A working understanding of any of the following technologies would be beneficial;
* Analogue / digital electronics,
* RF and / or EMC
* Composite structures or mechanical structural analysis
* Software design / test & verification
* Spacecraft integration / test
· Good written, interpersonal and customer presentation skills
· Highly organised; good project / time management skills
· Good people management skills, able to motivate individuals and the team
· Able to work within a pressurised, dynamic, project-led environment
· Able to motivate and influence individuals, and the team, in order to deliver projects against the specific customer PA requirements
· Able to be pro-active and work under own initiative
