My client, a well established business, seek a Procurement Manager to join their team on a permaent basis.
The position is available immediately due to internal promotion, so ideally you will be immediately available or have a short notice period.
I am really keen to speak with you if you come from a FMCG, Automotive, Engineering or Manufacturing background.
Develop, lead and execute procurement strategies
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce cost and improve effectiveness
Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
Perform bench marking cost and scenario analysis
Assess, manage and mitigate risks
Seek and partner reliable vendors and suppliers
Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
Manage and develop the staff with the department
As the procurement manager you will have the authority to act commercially on behalf of the business. To produce all direct materials for the business in accordance with the materials plan, or as agreed with the supply chain director in the case of materials not purchased against firm order coverage.
You will report to the Supply Chain Director.
Proven working expereince in a manufacturing procurement manager role
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor managment and vendor management software
Competant understanding of commercial law
MRP computer systems
Minimum 5 years in purchasing electrical and mechanical components within a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 2 yrs exp supervising people
