Seeking a Purchasing Finance Assistant to ensure financial information is processed in accordance with College guidelines, and to support two Finance Managers during the audit process. About the College
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health set and maintain standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. Additionally, through a variety of activities, it influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community. The College has almost 12,000 members and fellows and employs around 150 staff predominately based in our London office. The College also has offices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
About the roleThe role of the finance department is to provide a robust, effective, integrated finance department for the College and its subsidiaries. The department ensures the College meets its statutory financial responsibilities and maintains high standards of accountability to its members.
The role of Purchasing Finance Assistant is to ensure financial information is processed in accordance with College guidelines in order to provide management and statutory reporting information. The role will cover the Charity and subsidiary companies, provide cover for the other finance officer roles and support the two Finance Managers during the audit process.
The post holder will be expected to provide advice and assist other staff as appropriate on raising purchase orders on the e-procurement system, ensure that all procedures and processes are documented and review existing documentation as required.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating a purchase ledger and payments function, the ability to prioritise work and manage own time effectively with required timetables and a strong customer service focus, and the ability to build effective working relationships with staff and external stakeholders and suppliers. They will also have excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to work well within a team environment.
DetailsThis post is at gradeÂ 3 and the salary offered for this post is Â£23,479pa, within a salary range of Â£23,479pa and Â£28,565pa (all college appointments are usually offer at the lower end of the scale)
